+Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Condos

Fr. Michael is originally from Northwest Indiana. As a younger man, prior to his enrollment at the Seminary, he worked for nine years as a personal and commercial lines insurance marketing representative. He also served in the United States Marine Corps reserves. He met his wife, Presvytera Nancy, while working in Phoenix, Arizona.

Shortly after their marriage, Father received his calling to the holy priesthood. He enrolled at Hellenic College (Fall 1990) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies in 1993, with highest honors (summa cum laude). He continued his preparation for the holy priesthood, enrolling in the Master of Divinity program at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Theological School. He graduated in May of 1995 with high honors (magna cum laude).

Upon graduation, Fr. Michael received the Holy Mystery (Sacrament) of Holy Orders. He was ordained to the Holy Diaconate (Deacon) on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious Cross- September 14, 1995. He was ordained a Presbyter (Priest) on the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council on October 15, 1995.

Father began his ministry as an associate pastor to the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in St. Louis, Missouri, under the direction of +Rev. Fr. George Nicozisin of blessed memory. He has served parishes in Peoria, IL; Miami, FL; and Montgomery, AL. He recently celebrated the 25th Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood in the Fall of 2020. In June 2021, Father was honored to receive the Offikion of Protopresbyter, the highest office awarded to a married presbyter, from His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago.

On August 1st, 2008, Fr. Michael was assigned by +Metropolitan Iakovos of blessed memory to serve the Three Hierarchs parish in Champaign, as well as two missions--one for the OCF students (Chapel of St. Philip, NIKA House) and the Chapel of St. Barbara in Danville, IL (40 miles east of the Three Hierarchs parish). He continues to serve these communities with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael.

In addition to his pastoral service to these three communities, Fr. Michael has worked to make connections with many local charities; ecumenical groups; and Interfaith ministries.
